well after reading the posts regarding Healthcare at Home being taken over, i have been trying to contact them all day regarding my delivery due on the 10 January.
three 25 minute calls of waiting and telling me it's the busy Christmas period i have got no further,
anyone have any suggestions or do i wait it out until the 2nd January after the New Year holiday,
really beginning to feel vunerable now as i would normally have had a phone call confirming my delivery.

Suzanne I hope their phone number isn't an 0845 or 08700 number or those calls will have cost you dearly. Paul Barrett

So Suzanne not only have they given your poor service, they have also taken £3.75 from you for the calls to chase them up!! I don't know if you have heard of it but there's a web site 'Say No to 780' http://www.saynoto0870.com/ where you can search for conventional land line numbers for 0870 numbers. That means that you can get normal national dialling rates and, if you have a call plan that gives you free calls to landlines, it won't cost you a penny. Sorry to go off topic but it makes my blood boil when companies provide poor service and then rip off the customers with an 0870 number. Pay to complain? I don't think so. Paul Barrett

thanks for the info Paul,
i've had a quick look but feel very tired tonight now,
the number for Healthcare is : 0870 333 2834
i feel really upset that i am put in this position, maybe i am stressing to early but by reading the forum i now know there is a problem with them.
if anyone can tell me if they have a normal Landline number i would be very grateful.
thanks, Suzanne

I'm so sorry Suzanne.
Feeling vulnerable AND not being well takes some handling. I realise this is a private company but certain NHS employees can make you feel very vulnerable, I've been in that position and it's not a good one.
Hope things go OK for you.

thought i'd put an update,
got straight through to Healthcare at 8.am. firstly asked about my Prescription and was told they are just waiting on it from the Hospital which is about right thinking about it, i think i would normally hear later in the week but panicked after reading the posts.
i then said people were concerned re deliveries, i was told that a new Company had taken over the deliveries and there had been some hiccups, but these are being resolved now. the reason for the new delivery Company is that they are extending their hours to 8.p.m. instead of 6 p.m. and also Saturday and Sundays.
i also told them of my nightmare of trying to get through yesterday and was told a) because of the holidays period and b) there had been a fault with the line, so i asked for reassurance that the call centre hadn't changed and was told no it's the same.
so really it was my own fault to keep trying yesterday i was being a bit premature,
hope that we go back to normal service soon, but was re-assured that i got through first thing.
Suzanne
P.S. have just received a letter apologising for disruption to deliveries and phone calls

Hi Suzanne, I had a letter too this morning, but I`m glad you got through to sort out your delivery. They are being fairly economical with the truth about their problems, which started long before the festive season. I have e-mailed them a reply to their letter asking why I`ve had no pre-delivery phone call since May/June, and so far have not had a reply. They also tried to blame my hospital for not sending through the prescription - but the second person I spoke too said that was not the case : the prescription just hadn`t been dealt with yet. It`s good Paul sent the standard rate numbers, as I`m not confident the system will return to its former glory. The delivery men are complaining too. Kathleen x

Hello I received letter from hc@h yesterday. Miss the lovely delivery driver with the reshuffle......I've had 3 different ones and not as happy as my mature usual driver! Changes for changes sake sometimes that is short lived bad reverts back to what it is before changes occur. Just grumbling! Jane XXXX

I have had wonderful help this morning from NRAS who have been in touch with Healthcare, they are going to post an update from Healthcare hopefully by the end of the day
also been onto my Rheumy Nurse so I know Healthcare have my prescription now and she is going to follow up,
they are not answering the phone same message saying due to the holiday period so it's making life awkward all round at the moment,
just thought I'd put latest news

just here to say i thought i would try Healthcare before close of business at 5.30 and got through within 5 minutes, i knew they should have my Prescription by now as my Rheumy Nurse confirmed it. so delivery is due on the date it should be 10th January, i may try and check it on line the night before this time instead of phoning first thing .. don't think i could even go there at the moment!!
they said the phone line's were basically not working properly for about 3 weeks and hence the knock on effect, i said i hope everything is back to normal for when my next delivery in 8 weeks is due and she said no reason for it not to be now, slowly getting there.
so hope this reassure's anyone expecting a delivery from them soon,
Suzanne

hi Suzanne
Sorry to hear about your problems with Healthcare at Home. I was down to one cimzia before Xmas, couldn't get through to them then a delivery turned up without a phone call just before Xmas. good job I was in to take the delivery. I have just received a letter explaining that healthcare at home have had problems delivering because of a shortage of drugs and an increase in the number of patients they deliver to. So the demand for deliveries has risen enormously and they have needed a new system installed. There must be so many patients taking anti-tnf drugs now, I don't know what will happen in the future. make the most of your humira.
Best wishes Rebecca

Best wishes Rebecca Ami I being too cynical or does their explanation have a hollow ring to it? Basically they are complaining that their business is too busy, as if that is something that is unexpected and unpredictable. Any well run business should be easily able to cope with expansion - it's what successful business is all about. The fact that they are unable to do so should set alarm bells ringing everywhere Paul Barrett

The alarm bells are ringing loud and clear here - the letter is basically a "whitewash", and though they claim things are sorted since Dec. 24th, that is patently untrue. It`s just a standard letter pleading pressure of work. My problems began long before December. Kathleen .

alarm bells ringing very loudly here since i learnt of the problem in here,
to be honest it really stressed me out to chase my delivery for Friday, i have a lot of people to thank for that too,
Paul for giving me the Landline number,
my Rheumy Nurse for a) assuring me they had the prescription and b) chasing it up so that it wasn't lost in the pile .. i think they have more contact help that us patients do, having said that she has been getting the busy busy due to the holidays for ages as well,
and NRAS who also contacted Healthcare with the message i previously posted.
i am going to check on Thursday night for time slot as i can't face phoning and getting that message again, wonder if it is back to normal now?
we shall see, but as Kathleen says this problem was going on long before December.

Hi Anne
As well as all the phone calls I also emailed them on Friday morning and have not received a reply
I have never had any trouble before this delivery have you not had a letter telling you of all their problems with supply of certain drugs, deliveries and taking on lots of new patients
